 Duquesne Light Company recently contracted the CDCP to provide technical assistance to their Power of Light program. Power of Light will invest in lighting projects throughout Duquesne Light’s service area in Allegheny and Beaver counties. The program will focus on lighting special landmarks, as well as providing illumination to promote or enhance economic development, recreation, safety and security. The CDCP has been hired to assist in identifying community organizations with projects that might be a good fit, and to weigh individual projects for community impact. By providing grants to non-profit organizations throughout the area, Duquesne Light is hoping to build on their recently successful projects of lighting Penn Avenue, the Roberto Clemente Bridge downtown and Smallman Street in the Strip District.
