Federal Home Loan Bank
Affordable Housing Program
The CDCP helped FHLB staff revise the AHP application to include a new Design & Construction category, and evaluate annual submissions on the basis of design, construction methods and materials that result in higher quality projects. 

Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh
Mainstreets Program
The CDCP staff provide design assistance to individual property owners in connection with business district revitalization planning in selected city neighborhoods.

A+ Schools
Vacant School Building Reuse Project
Working with A+ and Cool Space Locator, the CDCP developed a process to assist the Pittsburgh Public School District with the sale and redevelopment of closed school buildings.

 

Carnegie Mellon University
Department of Architecture: Urban Lab
As an adjunct faculty member, Anne-Marie Lubenau taught a fifth-year urban design studio that focused on community design in Pittsburgh’s North Side.

 

 

Chatham College
Department of Landscape Architecture: Design Studio
Along with Chatham College staff, Jason Vrabel is teaching a community based design studio with projects in Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

 

Pittsburgh Parking Authority
Parking Garage Renovations
The Pittsburgh Parking Authority hired the CDCP to assist its staff with planning exterior and public space improvements to its Fort Duquesne/Sixth and Smithfield/Liberty garages. The CDCP helped with development of the scope of work, consultant selection, and managment of the design process.

Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Design
Town Hall Meeting
The CDCP helped PPND and Southwestern PA LISC organize and coordinate a Town Hall Meeting on Community Development attended by over 300 people.

 

Pittsburgh Department of City Planning
Baum-Centre Planning Initiative 
City Planning engaged the CDCP to assist with facilitation of community input during the planning process, and development of the planning document.


Saint Vincent College
Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media
The CDCP assisted with the development of a building program and design criteria which provided the foundation for moving forward with the national design competition and development of the facility.

Southwestern PA LISC
Pittsburgh Community Development Network Newsletter
With LISC and the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development, the CDCP produced an electronic newsletter highlighting the value of design in place-based, community development, as well as local and national best practices.
